Welcome to yet another post me styling red. I actually never thought it would come to this, in all honesty, cause I never really like or wore red before. I felt like it doesn’t go with my complexion, making me more pale than I actually am, but I guess things change. So I started buying red just because I didn’t own anything in that color in my wardrobe. The more I wore it the more surprised I was how it look on me.
In my previous post I’m styling red leopard print dress and I’m also sharing some tips on how to style red, cause it can be tricky sometimes, especially if it is also printed. This time around it’s a same concept just slightly different print and cut of the dress. You can apply all the previous tips when styling this type of a dress as well.
I followed my own rules here, wearing all black with it (acts as neutral), wearing lace up boots (for casual vibe) and for adding bit of a contrast/edge to this feminine look. These would be my bonus tips for you:
- If you feel that your look is to girly/feminine and you wanna contrast that softness, add something like combat boots or Dr. Martens boots.
- You can also wear those trendy daddy sneakers that come in all colors at the moment (I myself love white ones) but since they tend to look huge on feet it’s a matter of preference.
- Play with outerwear and add men cut blazer over your shoulders, oversize denim jacket or black (faux) leather jacket like I did.
These tips do not apply only for a red dress, you can use these tips for any dress of your choice. I do hope I’ve helped you out with these tips or at least made you wanna try different styles and experiment a bit more, or at least I made you start wearing red for a change.
Continuing with red series – in my next post I’m styling red button down shirt, so stay tuned!!!
